SEO specialists (SEO) or marketers surely familiar tools like Moz, Raven and SEMrush .But according Backlinko , today there are more than 150 free and paid SEO tools, probably unknown to many, especially among beginners in this field. Here is a selection of twelve tools SEO and content marketing done by our CIO colleagues. In their criteria, they held free or no more than $ 100 monthly subscription. The tools were listed in alphabetical order. They are often little known, sometimes very specific, but deemed among the best.
1 – Ahrefs
Ahrefs is a suite of SEO tools that allows, among other things, follow the links or backlinks back to test the performance of keywords and brand quotes. Ahrefs allows for example to know how many fields refer to your site, or how many .gov .edu sites or redirect to yours (returns links to these sites are popular search engine), and what sites pointing yours the most authoritative. The tool “Content Explorer” (see screenshot below) can be very useful for specialists in marketing glad because it allows them to quickly identify the most popular content based on keywords. The Ahrefs service offerings start at $ 99 tax per month, and the price drops to $ 82.50 per month if you choose to subscribe for a full year.
2 – AuthorityLabs
AuthorityLabs performs automatic daily monitoring of the most searched keywords on a range of websites. It also tracks the results of research carried out locally. This feature is very useful for small companies whose business relies on local traffic – in addition to the overall results of Google, Yahoo and Bing. When one connects to a Google Analytics (GA), AuthorityLabs provides a report entitled “Now Provided” that reflects the state of the performance of keywords. This is a good solution to compensate for the frustrating lack of data – “Not Provided” – Google Analytics. AuthorityLabs comes with a free trial period of 30 days, without the need to register a credit card. Then, the subscription costs a minimum of $ 99 tax per month.
3 – Check Broken Link
Check Broken Link does its job well, even if its interface is not very beautiful. And it’s easy to use. Just enter a URL and the tool explores the site. It checks that the internal and external links are not defective. Check Broken Link provides lists broken links (if one is detected), the address of pages where these links and the message server returns the visitors when they click on links that do not point in the right place.
4 – BuzzStream
BuzzStream boasts of being “the most advanced platform for identifying influential people.”SEO work is comparable to public relations and the establishment of a network. Links with external websites can be very high in Google rankings. BuzzStream offers a host of tools to identify influential stakeholders to contact, how to classify them, what commitments concluded with them and what links should be monitored. Some features of BuzzStream are free, as this tool to quickly extract page titles, meta descriptions and meta keywords from URLs (see photo). The cost of the subscription service starts at $ 24 per month excl.
5 – Discovery BuzzStream
The tool BuzzStream Discovery , which allows to quickly identify top influencers for a given keyword, is free. But one must register to use it. After entering a keyword, such as “corporate wellness” to learn about the programs associated with well-being in business, the tool displays a list of influencers. From there, you can easily see the most relevant articles of the influencers on the subject, and the number of times these articles are shared on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to see their Twitter handle, with short biographies and descriptions. Clicking on the name of an influencer provides more details, such as the number of exchanges by means message and the number of followers on Twitter. Overall, free BuzzStream provides a lot of quality information.
6 – CognitiveSEO
CognitiveSEO combination of functions that content marketers and SEO professionals will appreciate. This is the case, for example, this link analysis tool for visual feedback, links audits easy to understand, and a tool called “Unnatural Link Detection” that identifies suspicious links that Google might reject . A “Penalties” tool ( “Penalties”) allows to adjust to the updates to the Google Penguin algorithm. A tool “Content” highlights the strategies adopted by competitors and how marketers rank their own content on social media (see slideshow). The tool allows you to receive email templates to ask the recipients to share blog posts, offer them to expand their network to write messages on behalf of clients, communicate more widely on the activity of a startup and follow the messages.Connector allows you to schedule sending emails, to automate tracking responses, and evaluate the impact of messages.
8 – Content Marketer Notifier
Notifier is another service Content Marketer which also costs $ 9 per month excl. It allows to easily send tweets influencers for their presence in online articles. Notify analysis articles and blog posts search for names and accounts Twitter influencers, and prepares tweets with nicks @twitter influencers and links to the reported content. With this tool, influencers can easily share links with their fans. You can double-check some Twitter accounts found Notifier to ensure they correspond to the target users.
9 – Cyfe

10 – DeepCrawl
DeepCrawl is, according to his publisher, “the most comprehensive indexing robot world,” and no doubt, his review websites is very thorough. After analysis, the tool also delivers detailed reports on all technical errors that could have a negative impact on the site’s ranking in search engines. Google administrators tools and other major utilities offer free this kind of analysis, but DeepCrawl is very complete. Offers subscription service starting at $ 49 per month excl.
11 – Serpstat
On Serpstat , SEO tools are particularly well suited for competitive research. By entering the names of the websites in the search field, the tool returns a list of competitors for certain keywords. For each competitor, it displays a relevancy score, a score of visibility, a list of common keywords and missing keywords. The user enters a keyword in the tool “Content Marketing” and Serpstat displays a list of current and relevant queries, it can use to create content. The “Lite” subscription costs 49 dollars Serpstat VAT per month, but the service grants discounts if one is committed for two or three years. (The product being developed by a Ukrainian company, it is possible that some automated error messages or emails contain some phrases in Russian.)
12 – Tiny Ranker
Tiny Ranker is a series of fairly friendly SEO tools, developed in Norway and Denmark.As the name suggests, these tools are used to gather information on the ranking of websites based on specific keywords. For example, one can easily see how a site is ranked against a particular competitor for specific keywords. It can also link the tool to a Google Analytics account, and follow over time the keywords “winners and losers”. The basic subscription, which includes enough features for smaller sites, costs $ 19 excluding VAT per month against $ 79 tax per month for a premium subscription.
